Detection of fentanyl and derivatives using a lateral flow immunoassay

چکیده
Overdoses due to the adulteration of illegal opioid drug supply with synthetic opioids (i.e. fentanyl and derivatives) continue be a serious problem in United States. The presence these substances this not only presents risk users, but also first responders. Synthetic have high toxicity leads overdose or accidental exposure when they are included supply. Due toxicity, responders forensic scientists need for rapid, accurate, low-cost detection methods. In study, we examined commercially available fentanyl-directed lateral flow immunoassay (LFI) produced by BTNX, Inc. (Markham, ON Canada). Several aspects performance were examined: limits (LODs) sensitivity derivatives liquid from dried surface sampled fentanyl, effectiveness complex illicit street samples, as well ability LFIs determine vivo urine rabbits human collected postmortem cases. results study suggest that potential used both field.

متن کاملDevelopment of a Lateral Flow Immunoassay Using Recombinant Dense Granular Antigen (GRA) 7 to Detect Anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgG Antibodies
Toxoplasma gondii is an intracellular protozoan parasite that causes toxoplasmosis and is of medical importance in pregnant women and immunosuppressed patients. In recent years, many methods have been developed for the detection of infection caused by this parasite; however, most of the developed methods are not adequately sensitive. The dense granular antigen (GRA) ...

The use of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as labeling carriers in combination with the enzymatic activity of the horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in order to achieve an improved optical lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) performance is presented here. Briefly in a LFIA with an immune-sandwich format AuNPs are functionalized with a detection antibody already modified with HRP, obtaining an 'enhanced' label...
متن کاملDevelopment and Validation of a Lateral Flow Immunoassay for Rapid Detection of NDM-Producing Enterobacteriaceae
The global spread of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) that are often resistant to most, if not all, classes of antibiotics is a major public health concern. The NDM-1 carbapenemase is among the most worrisome carbapenemases given its rapid worldwide spread. We have developed and evaluated a lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) (called the NDM LFIA) for the rapid and reliable detectio...
متن کاملEnhancing the lateral-flow immunoassay for viral detection using an aqueous two-phase micellar system
Availability of a rapid, accurate, and reliable point-of-care (POC) device for detection of infectious agents and pandemic pathogens, such as swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus, is crucial for effective patient management and outbreak prevention. Due to its ease of use, rapid processing, and minimal power and laboratory equipment requirements, the lateral-flow (immuno)assay (LFA) has gained ...
